Introduction

GlobalFoundries Fab 1 is seeking new-college graduate to support the state-of-the-art 300mm semiconductor manufacturing and development in Dresden, Germany. The core responsibilities of this team involve ownership of process integration in the Back end of line with emphasis on process flow in BEOL and Cu metallization schemes, monitoring performance and driving continuous improvements related to cost efficiency, technology yield, process stability of inline and electrical parameters, defectivity, and more. This includes root-causing and implementation of corrective / preventive actions for product- or technology-specific issues in close collaboration with the relevant process engineering (AME) and Integration Platform Teams. All tasks and activities are following and utilizing standardized Global Foundries biz processes like ICAR, 8D, MRB, ECM and PCRB. The team works closely with the NPI team / Integration platforms to meet all customer requirements for product starts and high-volume production products. Besides this, the team is also responsible for the development of new and emerging technologies through definition/execution of experiments and technical data analysis. The ideal candidate can demonstrate a technical understanding of semiconductor principles and an understanding of a balanced scorecard approach to develop, sustain, and improve semiconductor technologies with quality, cost, and delivery all considered.

Your Job

  • Develop, optimize, and stabilize process integration in the BEOL area of various technology nodes.

  • Sustaining and improving manufacturing technologies by ensuring product quality, reducing defectivity, improving process stability, and increasing processing efficiency.

  • Collaborate with several Fab1 teams, specifically with unit process and yield engineering, analysis labs, quality, and reliability.

  • Supporting new product introduction, characterization, and ramp to meet the Fab1 manufacturing roadmap.

  • Keep close alignment with Integration platform and customer teams

  • Excursion handling and problem solving according to the 8D methodology.

Required Qualifications

  • M.Sc. / Dipl. Ing or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or another relevant technical discipline.

  • Basic understanding of CMOS process integration and advantageous if previous experience in BEOL process integration.

  • Analytic thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in diverse, multi-cultural environment.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Fluency in English Language is required – written & verbal (at least C1).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Semiconductor technology experience in process integration or unit process modules is an advantage.

  • Proficient usage of German language is an advantage.
